On a personal note....

A little bit about me

London based, I love the city but I value my quiet time and a peaceful mind.

I love to research independent businesses that focus on responsible consumerism and believe that there is power in small. If you're here, you're probably doing your own thing and that's amazing. Your life is yours, no one else's so I hope you simply find inspiration, information and positivity in these posts.

The Independent Lifestyle encompasses the celebration of all things independent, not just cute retailers and lovely small business owners, but magazines and people like us; people living independently, making considered choices every day.

A little bit about the blog

You'll find posts on creativity, craftsmanship, slow living, sustainability, climate change, rewilding, eco friendly products, ethical businesses striving for positive change, community driven initiatives, home cooking, food growing, and other news on the circular and sharing economy.

There is no judgement here. No really. You are human as I am human and kindness should be shared at every opportunity. It's important to recognise that some things are aspirational, and it's okay to be doing different things to others; don't get too bogged down with what you are not doing. It's too easy to feel overwhelmed with guilt or pressure to always do the right thing, all the time. It's also easy to feel like we are alone in our efforts, but we're not! We're here together now, you and me, and many many others.

We are humans, all of us, trying our best, and if you've stumbled on this blog, I'm sure you're already poking around, asking questions, and already well on your way to living a considered life - so give yourself a hug and say well done me! Never forget the power in being kind to yourself and to others.
