To me I'm not seeing much return...
All living costs are constantly on the rise, there are less benefits for those that need them, no transport infrastructure that I wanna see is being developed, there is little action on the environment, arts, education and the NHS are all seeing cuts, emergency and care services are still underpaid, under staffed and under strain, which leads to devastating mistakes being made, homelessness is on the rise, in person doctors appointments are hard to book, the police are arresting protestors fighting for the climate instead of making sure there is no one on their own police force that might rape and murder a woman, the Police Crime and Sentencing Bill wants to criminalise our right to peacefully protest leading to the criminalisation of people that don't deserve it, existing rail infrastructure isn't being prioritised, money on HS2 is being pissed up the wall, something we didn't need anyway, supplies are running out for things, some of which I don't even use a lot of, like fuel and globally imported products, Brexit is still not 'done', it's a shit show, promises have been broken, energy prices are on the rise, cycling infrastructure is nowhere to be seen, communities are seriously deprived, and we're all giving a lot more money that we're seeing results on...
Oh yeh and National Insurance is set to increase.
How about we push for an investigation on where the money is going? The UK is in a very poor state. I'm not seeing any improvements and I'm angry that anyone who didn't vote for this Tory government is paying 20%.
It's obviously a legal obligation to pay tax on income. I'm not suggesting anyone breaks the law. But really, where is that money going? It's clearly not being spent wisely or on the things that matter to serve the original purpose of why we pay these huge taxes.
