Remember to smile...

A rare appreciation for a consumer product design

Credit to Nikita Konkin

This is not so much of what I've been reading, but something that made me smile and could not not share! It's an example of a very beautiful (to me) packaging design for pasta that is designed to be beautiful. That's all.

Right here, right now, I am not engaging as to whether the material is sustainable, the packging is recyclable, the customer is getting value for money in relation to weight or if it's only sold as a novelty item in gift shops and affluent markets as opposed to 'proper shops'. I am here to share this design with you because it made me smile, and I hope it does with you. To be an activist, politically engaged, and socially conscious is sometimes ata detriment to your overall happiness.

To be an activist, politically engaged, and socially conscious is sometimes ata detriment to your overall happiness.

Often you can see the 'wrong' in every. single. thing. But I have chosen to not question this one.

I came across it after someone shared it on Linked In, and I enjoyed a moment of 'Internet happiness'. As someone who does not look at memes actively or spend time on sites like 'Bored Panda', I tend to recognise when someone has truly made me laugh or emotionally connect. I am so much more aware of myself by taking this approach. So here this is, a rare but honest appreciation for a consumer product simply because of the design. It is aesthetically pleasing, and I admire it for the quality of the graphic design. I am not questioning its ethics, and I am not suggesting anyone buys it, without looking into the ethics.

I like the design. That's is it. For credit, you can go to Nikita Konkin's portfolio.

Give yourself room to smile.
