Yeh it's late...

I'm a big fan of resource sharing, and one type of blog post I like is those that do just as this one is going to do; shares online only articles, posts and news which can be on any number of topics, the writer has come across that month. It's too easy to see the big headlines, and all end up reading the same stuff, but when we all scratch between the surface of whatever we as individuals are interested in, and then share with others that might never have found it, but can still be appreciateive of it, that's awesome. So without further ado, here is what I've been reading in August... After going to a webinar on digital marketing and networkng to form collaborations with other creatives etc. someone linked this article on Ikigai, or in other words, the Japanese secret to a happy life through purpose and meaning. It's an interesting concept that I can relate to, as sometimes I can think, why am I doing this? This blog is a personal outlet, and at this point, I only hope that it encourages, inspires and informs others to live ethically. I don't wish to make money, so I'm not advertising, nor am I pushing to make content every day... but that can cause me to be lazy with it, and I have to remind myself, that this blog is one part of my desire to fight climate change, highlight envionmental and social concerns, and make the world a kinder place.

I've been learning a little more about oak trees in times of late, and came across this BBC video telling a story of an oak tree that survived a storm told by Tony Kirkham. There's a cool analogy with a wine glass to explain the root system.

I've been to Notting Hill carnival multiple times. It's been different every time, and enjoyed with different people, and I love it. Obviously this year it didnt happen as it normally would so I had to get my fix elsewhere. I found this tribute to it on the fabulous Gal Dem site.

Okay and that's it... I've been reading books of course and listening to podcasts, but in August a lot of time was taken up elsewhere so I wasn't reading online so much.

Also, apology for the poor (non pretty) photo below, but taking and editing the imagery for this blog is something I have not yet worked out how to have time for...
