Now a regular monthly feature, I like to include a list of online articles and interesting things I've come across during the month by linking them in to share with you lovely people, so here we go.

I've written a completely separate post on cultural appropriation and yoga as a friend recently became a qualified yoga teacher. She's white, young, female, middle class, incredibly priviledged and became qualified in 3 weeks. As someone of South Asian descent, with Hindu parents and a mother who has practised yoga for years, I had some issues, which you can read about here.

There is an interesting watch in this video if you don't fancy reading.

I created this site in lockdown, spent a month tirelessly messing around with design elements, reading articles, and finally launched in September. I allowed it go live only as a potential employer asked to see it; I'm still working away behind the scenes to get it up to the standard I want it to be at, and on the 1st October I linked it to Google so that it can actually be found, by people. While I'm still beavering away, I found this helpful list of over used words to avoid, which, when considering how many people could be applying for jobs right now, could prove super useful!

In a time when I've just been made redundant from my job, I'm applying for a new role in the charity, community and environment sector. While this is both exciting and scary, I'm also looking at other, less obvious ways of boosting my income in this handy guide from Money Saving Expert. While we're on that, Linked In has some great courses to brush up your digital skills here. Plus there is this handy list of resources that takes you to other sites for anyone else job seeking, and in need of a skills boost, or some confidence.

Remember - it's not you that's been made redundant, it's your job!

There is an entrepreneur called Sarah Bentley who founded the UKs only 100% plant based eco community cookery school, Made in Hackney, and as I've been reading more about her, there are an increasing amount similarites:

- she used to work in journalism and media

- she career changed into issues foccussed on the environment and ecology

- she is passtionate about community and food

- she felt a gradual desire to do something with tangile impact

There is a great interview with here on Healthy Living London.

That's it for now - see you next month!
